Hello, This is Captain Jason Young with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report for September 14. Today I fished on the South end of Lake Okeechobee with Grant and Lindsay Young. Grant and Lindsey have both recently relocated from California, Grant moved up to Michigan and Lindsay moved to South Florida. Grant always wanted to fish out on Lake Okeechobee. While he was here in Florida visiting his daughter Lindsay, he decided to make the trip over to the Lake Okeechobee and we had a great morning fishing on the outside weed lines with shiners first thing in the morning. The first couple hours was great fishing, our average Largemouth Bass today was probably between that 3 – 5 pound range and a 5 pounder being our biggest. Lake Okeechobee temps were in the low eighties, and we had overcast skies with air temps from the mid eighties. Hello, this is Captain Jason Young with yet another Lake Okeechobee fishing report
Today I fished with Dan from South Dakota, what a great guy. We primarily fished the north end of Lake Okeechobee and spent most of the day fishing using wild shiners to target the big bass. I noticed early today that water temperatures have drop down to around 69 degrees. This is causing the big bass to start moving around and show themselves.
We caught a lot of fish today, most of the fish were located in areas with large cattail walls. We caught multiple fish over (4 lbs) four pounds and a few more over (5 lbs) five pounds. So fishing is clearly picking up, season for the big bass could be coming early this year.

John and Darren in City of Lake Okeechobee
Hello, This is Captain Jason Young with your Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report.
Today I fished a couple of days with John and Darren in City of Lake Okeechobee. We had nice day even with the steady 15 to 20 mph winds. The wind helps in some ways, but does limit some of the areas on the lake. We ended up moving around fishing multiple locations.
We ended up finding a pretty good location, found good number of fish and ended up capping the day off with (7 lber) sever pound bass that John caught. Then about five minutes later John caught a nice (6) six-foot alligator.
So it made for some very interesting fishing today…lol…Most of our fish were caught with wild shiners and rest came flipping in cattail or Kissimmee grass edges.

Hello this is Captain Jason Young, with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report.
Today I fish the North end of the lake out of Okeetantie with Kevin Cohoun and his son Brandon from Lake Placid Florida.
We started out that they’re with water temperatures in the upper 70’s days and it slowly raised in to the mid 80’s as the day progressed. We fish with shiners today, and in the morning we were targeting Kissimmee grass with pepper grass mixed in. And later in the day we switched our pattern to targeting hydrilla.
We had a study pick of fish all day, we caught fish in about every stop we when too. We had one opportunity at a huge fish that Brandon had on right at the end of the day. He fought it for a while until it came up and shucks it head so we could see it, and off she went free for another day!
That was our chance at the big one, other than that it was a great day. We did manage to put a huge catfish in the boat as well.

Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report August 22
Hello, this is Captain Jason Young with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report August 22 2014,
Today I fished the North end of Lake Okeechobee, with Patrick and Taylor from the St Louis Missouri area. There’s still a strong morning bite on the outside weed edges, we took full advantage of that till about (9:00am) nine o-clock this morning. Then we moved deeper in to the weeds with slower baits. Once that slow down on us, we decided to go and use some shiners for a little while, and the shiner bite was really strong today.
Caught a lot of good quality fish today and later in the afternoon probably around noon or a little after noon we went and decided to go flipping for a couple of hours. And why the flipping bite was a little slow, which is typical we did manage to get a few quality bites in the last little bit of the day as well. So, all in all it was a great day. Caught a lot of fish, a lot of good quality fish.
Our air temps were in the mid (90’s) nineties but had a genital breeze to keep us comfortable and the water temps were floating right in the mid (80’s) eighties.

Hello this is Captain Jason Young with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report!
Today I fished with John and David from Massachusetts at the North end of Lake Okeechobee out of City of Okeechobee. We had a great day, we started our day working outside weed lines with swim-baits our most productive was White and Houdini. And after that we moved on to spinner-baits and ended up catching our last fish with flipping baits. We were flipping up and into the cattails, or air temps were in the low 90’s and water temps in the mid 80’s.
We ended up having a great day and a lot of bites, saw a couple of alligators and just had a great time!
