Lake Jackson Bass Fishing

We have been doing a lot of bass fishing on Lake Jackson which is just south of Saint Cloud Florida. This body of water has a lot of lily pad coverage and some very healthy hydrilla. This combination means for some great bass fishing. Artificial baits have been doing very good out here and you can really catch some good numbers from one to three pound bass. But don’t be fooled, this place has a good amount of big bass as well. October 1^st 2010 saw a ten pound bass come over the side of the boat using a Strike King Red Eye Shad and several bass in the six pound range have also been caught using live wild shiners as well as artificial lures.

The two bass boated in this video are only two of the twenty five bass I caught that day using a mix of artificial baits. Strike King Red Eye Shads, Spro baits, Bass Pro Shops Stick O baits and flukes have been great baits to use out here. For the soft plastic lures, junebug and watermelon red have been very good colors. I have also been using some of my own hand poured worms out here and they have been really banging some good numbers as well. The worms I have been using are roughly 4 ½ inch worms with a small bullet weight and just slowly crawling them along the bottom and pulled thru the hydrilla. This has been the hot ticket to catching not only the numbers, but some quality three and four pound bass as well.

With the cooler weather the spinner bait bite has been turning on very good as well. Slow rolled thru the lily pads has been great, as the bass have been stacking up in these areas and have been hitting the spinner baits very aggressively. We have had some success with swim baits out here as well. The Lake Fork Live Magic Shad has caught some very nice bass, so don’t shy away from using swim baits.

Butler Chain Bass Fishing Nov 7th 2010

Orlando Bass Fishing has been doing very good as of late. Cooler air temperatures as well as cooler water temperatures have made for some very good bass fishing in Florida.Butler Chain of Lakes has been a great place to bass fish, with the bass starting to school up and move into shallower waters this has made for some very fun action. Live wild shiners have been doing very good out here. Drop offs are still producing some good numbers as well as some quality size bass. Main areas that have been producing have been the areas with some good weed lines and hydrilla patches that are scattered around the chain.

Artificial lures are doing great out here. Skipping senko type baits and flukes under docks are producing some good numbers and size. Spinner baits and Strike King Red Eye Shads are catching the bass in a big way right now. The bass have been very aggressive hitting these lures as they are now chasing bait fish around as they start to fatten up for the upcoming spawning season.

Main lakes that have been fishing best for us have been Lake Chase, Lake Butler which is the main lake and Lake Tibet. These three lakes have some of the best vegetation on them and they have been holding some of the best action as of late. My trips out here have been producing some good numbers and quality size. Capt. Rob Warfield has also been getting some quality action as seen in these pictures with two youngsters holding some nice bass they caught using artificial lures. Nothing more satisfying than seeing youngsters catching bass, whether it be with live bait or artificial baits, this is what it is all about.

Lake Toho Bass Fishing Report June 13th

Lake Toho Bass Fishing

Bass fishing on East Lake Toho has been doing great. Schooling activity had slowed down first thing in the morning for us, and towards the end of the week the bass were a little more scattered out than in previous trips.

Strike King Redeye Shad still has been the bait of choice out here. Tonya had been a real trooper tossing this bait around, while her husband Mike had missed a few as they shook off close to the boat, and a few others following him all the way back to the boat.

Mike was catching a few scattered around when we heard Tonya say she had one on. We both turned and looked and sure enough, she had the big gal of the day right next to the boat, after a few serious head shakes from this gal, we had her in the net and snapping pictures of her. This bass came in easily between 5 ½ and 6 pounds.

East Lake Toho Bass Fishing

Before I got married on June 6^th of this year, I had some fun time on the water with my son. We managed to spend some time on East Lake Toho tossing around Strike King Redeye Shads and senko type baits. We managed to boat a few good solid bass even in the heat of the day. Most of our action came on the East side of the lake around the offshore grasses and some around the reeds.

West Lake Toho has been on fire as far as big bass being caught. This insane weather pattern we had to start the year off had changed all the normal typical patterns, prespawn, spawn and post spawn so the big bass fishing action has continued later into the season than usual.

Lake Toho Bass Fishing

Got to spend a few hours out on East Lake Toho first thing this morning. My plan was to just scout out a few areas and enjoy some time on the water.

Whether I have a guide trip or not, there is nothing more relaxing than just kicking back on the water and doing some bass fishing. Well that plan failed today, as there was no relaxing. I hit my first spot at 6:55 and had my first bass, on video and to the boat by 7:05.

Tossing Strike King Red Eye Shad kept me very busy out here today. I got in roughly 2 hours of bass fishing and boated 10 bass and a very good size crappie, all of which were caught on the Red Eye Shad.

Water levels were definitely much lower than my previous trip out here, maybe one day the state of Florida water Mismanagement will leave a good thing alone, but I highly doubt that. Despite the lower levels the lake is very safe to travel around, and the bass were definitely more than will to play. Great thing being, all the bass caught today were right in the two to three pound range, and very scrappy fighters.

Waters look great, nice and clean and the grasses looked very healthy. Main keys to catching them today was working areas with some good vegetation. Main area was offshore vegetation, mostly areas where grasses were just below the surface. For those that have been asking how the crappie fishing has been out here, it has been doing good, mostly early morning before the sun pounds down on the water, But as you can see from the picture, if they are willing to slam a red eye shad burned thru the water, they will eat anything.

Lake Toho Bass Fishing-Redeye Shad

The bass fishing on East Lake Toho has been doing great folks. Once again, the off shore grass beds were the place to be as the bass were stacked up in the grass. The Strike King Redeye Shad has been really catching the florida largemouth bass like you would not believe. Here is yet another one caught today, and believe me she hit this lure hard!
