Yushi and Atsushi once again, catching some more good largemouth bass using live bait on Lake Toho. Wild shiners was definately the way to go today.
Central Florida Bass Fishing covers many great lakes in Florida. Many of which are located very close to Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World. This makes for a great addition to your vacation, what could be better than a relaxing day on the water catching bass with your family.
Lake Toho Bass Fishing has always been known as one of the best lakes in the world for bass fishing. Every year thousands of people come here to bass fish this great body of water. This does not even count the extreme numbers of bass tournaments that will take place, almost every weekend out here. You would think with all the bass fishing pressure Lake Toho gets, that the bass fishing would drop off. Well folks, the bass are still here and they are still biting.
Thanks to C.P.R , Catch Photograph and Release, the bass fishing here has been nothing short of great. The cooler months have definitely been the better months for fishing. Stable and cooler water temperatures keep the bass feeding at a pretty steady pace all day long. This will also trigger some of the best top water bass fishing around. Clients from all around the world come here for some great bass fishing action, and every now and then I have a chance to video tape some of the action they get. Live bait is a sure fire way to get a youngster hooked on bass fishing, and the wild shiners we have here are the best quality you can get.
December is probably one of the three most productive months of the year. We will catch some good numbers as well as some quality sized largemouth bass during the month. Although wild shiners are one of the best bass baits for this time of year, you can still catch the bass no problem with a wide range of artificial lures. Spinner Baits, Strike King Red Eye Shads, buzz baits and the typical seven and ten inch worms will yield some quality bass, not only on lake toho, but Butler Chain, Conway Chain and East Lake Toho as well.
The month of February has seen some very good bass fishing action here in Orlando. We have had most of our focus on Butler Chain and one of the private lakes that I fish. Butler Chain we have had some good bass come off beds, despite high winds that had consistently pounded us along with what seemed like an endless run on cold fronts.
Most of our trips this month were with artificial baits, with steel shad and a wide range of Gitem Baits catching most of the bass. Steel Shad have been doing a great job in deeper waters when fronts have hit us, working them mostly in 10 to 16 feet of water, almost slow rolling them, with the very tight wobble and close resemblance of bait fish, these baits have been awesome.
Gitem Baits have been plugging the bass for us in and around scattered grass beds, offshore hydrilla beds and docks. The Twin Liz and the Curly 7 have been doing great tossing them under docks texas rigged with a 1/16th ounce screw in weight. The Gitem Curly 10 has been great pulling it thru heavy eel grass to catch some nice quality bass, one day numbers will be up, and size down, but only to be followed up with some very solid bass being caught the next day.
towards the end of the month. Shiner fishing has been doing good, slow trolling the shiners with no float around deep drop offs on Lake Butler itself has produced some quality bass. Lakes Chase and Blanche have also held some good action, Chase has been good in areas where the lay downs are as well as Blanche. Blanche has been very good around the docks as well as just offshore from the docks, finding the offshore hydrilla has produced some very good quality bass.
The month of March has carried over pretty much from the same action we have seen in February, although the majority of the bass had already spawned, we still were catching some bass off beds, or cruising around the beds. Butler Chain we have been catching most bass just off the grass beds and under docks, wacky rigged Gitem KO’s have been doing great under docks as well as the curly 7’s.
